              Choral Conducting Masterclass (February 22-26, 2012)

              The masterclass in February 2012 will be held with  Prof. Volker Hempfling, one of the most renowned choral conducting teachers of Germany. The working partner of Volker Hempfling will be Sabine Horstmann, concentrating on choral vocal technique and warm-up exercises.

              Volker Hempfling is a professor emeritus in Robert-Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf and is a widely acclaimed clinician among many countries like Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, USA, Slovenia, Spain or Austria.

              The masterclass will cover various topics on choral conducting like conducting technique, choir pedagogy, rehearsal methodology, interpretation and expression. 6-8 active participants will have the chance to work with the teachers and conduct the workshop choir.

              Workshop choirs will be Rezonans and BUMK Classical Choir.

              Choral Conducting Summer Masterclass (August 2012 - dates to be announced)

              The choral conducting summer masterclass in August will host two very important choral conducting teachers: Hans-Dieter Reinecke (Germany) and Elisenda Carrasco (Catalonia/Spain). The masterclass will last 9 days, covering a range of topics on choral conducting and pedagogy.


              Anne-Christina Weidmann (Germany) will be accompanying the masterclass with a concentration on rhythmics, body language, posture and choral warm-ups.

              10-12 active participants will be working with the conductors in a rotation basis, having the chance to work with both of them. Active participants will also work with the workshop choir and set the lessons directly to application. 

              The repertoire will be consisting of both German and Latin American choral literatures, as well as examples of Turkish choral music.
